Is there such a thing as too many pedals? I have found that with a decent amp I can keep the pedals to just a few and still get a huge variety of tones. I have a mesa amp that has a great distortion channel. To this I like to use a delay, chorus, phase and volume pedal. I have a Roland midi setup I play with at home, but have not used it on stage.
